<image:caption>Robot Elephant stationery package: custom stamps in black ink on plain kraft-brown stock (Nenah Environment paper in Desert Storm). Modular stamps could be combined as needed to print business cards, letterhead and envelopes. This approach tested the open, readable nature of my chosen typography—stamping can blot and distort the lettering, even if done carefully. I created a registration template for the stamps to ensure a tidy result consistent with my design comps. In the end, the idea proved too cumbersome to be practical.</image:caption>

<image:caption>DENNIS Primary Identity, 2016. DENNIS’ first complete identity redesign in more than twenty years resulted in a friendlier, more memorable look. The “D” shield mark symbolized three things at once: a pocket, the expert stitching done in DENNIS’ Portland factory, and shield-style crests on school uniforms. Hypatia Sans was a dignified replacement for the old brand’s Trajan lettering. The primary brand colors, taupe gray and gold, carried over to keep a through line to DENNIS’ past.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Schoolcrush visual identity, 2014. I riffed on the original logo’s hand-lettered tagline (by illustrator Ryan Alexander Tanner), hand-drawing lowercase letters based on the Eurostile typeface and outlining a drop shadow for dimension. The letters got a rough marker fill, evoking classic school notebook margin doodles and hand-drawn band logos. An upward slant signaled optimism and added a dynamic feel.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The More Love Yoga & Wellness visual identity projects a joyful, summery, outdoorsy vibe, as seen here in one of the seven-color combined logo versions with arched text. The visual identity is clean and flowing with vintage flair, featuring stylized nature iconography and retro-inspired letterforms.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Different logo compositions easily scale to fit different needs, as shown in the More Love Yoga & Wellness brand board above. A generous color palette opens the door to many color combinations—yin and vinyasa classes can each have their own color scheme. And the badge mark’s artwork becomes a separate icon set, perfect for calling out different principles and concepts, or creating an illustrative pattern to enliven the brand’s offerings.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The More Love Yoga & Wellness brand standards detail how to pair the brand colors with photography and showcase the typographic pairing. Lemongrass script, the inspiration for the logo’s primary lettering, is a warm and breezy typeface with a ’70s vibe. It combines beautifully with Noto Sans, clean and readable at text sizes with a variety of weights for versatility.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Apology Energy primary combined logo began with a heart/speech bubble sketch the client created. They liked the idea, and wanted a more refined look plus a full logo with the organization’s name. I handcrafted the lettering based on the client’s preferred typeface, Yellowtail, then redesigned the original mark, making it more streamlined and unique. The resulting elements fit together into a master logo and also work individually.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Apology Energy brand elements work in various combinations, the line weight and counter space scaling well at multiple sizes. The accompanying brand guidelines detail logo usage, as well as the client’s chosen color palette and typography system. Yellowtail’s lively script combines with calm, sans serif Lato to create a dynamic look for the inspirational quotes The Apology Energy posts on Instagram.</image:caption>
